Party

Today we celebrated Gideon's birthday with a party.  It was a bring games and play them party with snacks.  K is still not feeling well but managed to be there and away from most of people, visiting them in small spurts.  Gideon seemed to have a great time and some of his best SCA friends came up from Massachusetts to see him. 

The party was held at Kimball Jenkins School of Art.  The campus is all old buildings that used to be part of a farm.  One of the buildings is called the Mansion.  Those who wanted were able to get a tour of the building today.  I had been in there before for a class, but did not see all of the building then.  There are intricate details that are beautiful in the house.  They are not things that I think I would have chosen if I had lots of money to spend on a house, but they were lovely.  Each fireplace had a different design.  The hinges and the door knobs had designs. These little details add to the charm of this home.  The workmanship in the wood was beautiful too.  The shape of the house and that the attic looked like it could have a small ball in it is fantastic.

My happy though is playing games with Gideon and friends.  I had forgotten how much fun Fluxx was to play and we played Snake Oil too. 

Outside a window this tree almost looks like it is starting to bud.
