Meetings

As a para-educator for a public school I am not looking forward to going back to school inside a classroom because of covid-19.  I watched the first part of the school board meeting and I am amazed at the amount of work that people have put into the different plans for going back to school.  Unfortunately I am at a point where I need to make a decision as I don't think I will feel comfortable in the classroom.  Just as importantly I am having a hard time visualizing how I will be able to work with students from six feet away.  And so this evening was stressful.  Thank you for reading this, I will take some deep breaths and focus on some good things from today.

A list of happy things:

  • After working with the corn in the garden today, most of it is standing again.  The windstorm had knocked many of them down.
  • I picked two tomatoes today.  One may end up in the compost but the other looks alright.
  • I planted the rest of the cucumbers and zucchini that I started from seed a week or so ago.  I had put some of the seeds in upside down.  This became obvious when the zucchini started poking its way out of the netting from the sides.
  • There is a praying mantis still in the garden.
  • K picked a few peaches today and plans to get as many as possible tomorrow and to start processing them.
  • K and Z emptied their storage area today.  They celebrated by bringing home pizza for dinner.
  • A few weeks ago I planted some petunia seeds.  Not sure what I will do with them, but many are sprouting.

Zucchini-on the left-pushing through to live.
Corn mostly standing.

Corn close up.

Stay safe.
