The sounds of the generator lasted all night. Whatever caused the power outage (probably fallen trees from the tropical storm) was not repaired until after I left to take a walk with a friend. Z, who usually works from home, went to a friend's house with power to work today. K stayed home and cleaned out the frig. She and
Gideon made a bunch of pudding to use up the milk. This was the first power outage since we moved here. Now we have an idea how quickly it will take for the power to return. In the previous house the power seldom went out. Here it was out for maybe 14 hours or so. We have planning to do before winter storms.
There is at least one tree down in the back. It is right across where we were hoping to put an archery range next year. I didn't walk too far in the back, there could be more. Most of the corn also fell over in the wind. I tried to support them but they aren't coming back up on their own. I may try other things to prop them better tomorrow. There are some tiny little corn cobs starting to grow and I don't want to lose them.
K picked some peaches from Marjorie, the peach tree, today. They taste good. I'm sure that is her happy for today. Mine is the walk with my friend. We haven't seen much of each other since I stayed with her between homes in April. We had a nice walk and visit after.

These are the zucchini seeds that I didn't think were going to sprout. I'm fairly certain I put them in upside down. This picture was taken in the morning. |

Almost dinner time, the zucchini is on the left. They are poking through the sides to sprout.

Stay safe.
