Oak Hill Fire Tower

With the stress of yesterday still on me this morning I called out sick today.  Part of me hoped to be productive, but I was tired and rested a bunch in the morning.  Rested, but didn't sleep.  Late in the day I took a walk.  I finally made it to the fire tower that is not too far from home.  I have visited it a few times but it has been a while.  This year I had hoped to visit all the fire towers in the state.  It is highly unlikely that that will happen this year so it will go onto next year's list of things to do.  The hike to the fire tower is a happy for today.  Other happy things are:
  • The way people in the house break out in song.  It is always so beautiful.
  • For a short time, conversations were sung today.  Because, why not?
  • K found her Surface laptop today.  It has been missing for almost two years.  It was a mystery (like the car key we found a few weeks ago).  She found it in a box of Christmas decorations.  It somehow got put into the year before's decorations and packed away.  We did very little decorating last Christmas because things were going on.  The best part is that it still works.
  • Of the 106 photos I took today, I was able to choose only six to post.
  • Since August 13th I have maintained a step streak of reaching at least 10,000 steps a day.
  • This is day four of writing for NaNoWriMo.  I haven't been doing a lot of words, but some.  The number at the bottom of the blog each day is the total word count for that and is not related to the blog words.

This appeared to be an old foundation.

Chain link.

This was taken from the top landing of the fire tower.
My guess is that the buildings are part of the town of Loudon,
but I'm not sure.

An outhouse that is falling apart
or was vandalized.

Broken heart rock.

That silhouette is from the root system of a fallen tree.

Stay safe.
