Thursday

Today was a mixed bag.  There was snow and sunshine.  This morning I got out for a walk before work.  There had been some flurries overnight but it was mostly sunny when I walked.  I decided to take the sidewalk today instead of walking the property so I had walked about two miles before breakfast.  Walking gives one a different perspective than driving through an area.  There are a fair number of older homes along this busy street, but a few newer (less than 100 years old) ones as well.  Most houses sit back from the road.  One had a driveway that has to be at least a quarter mile long.  Or maybe it was a business, I couldn't quite see the building at the end.

The governor announced today that we will be continuing the remote learning through the end of the school year.  There was a school board meeting tonight so I decided to tune in and see if the end of the school year was planned.  It wasn't.  There will be a proposal at the next meeting with possible scenarios for the school board to consider.  I'm thankful to still be working.

K painted the living room today.  I admit that I was skeptical about her choice of color, but it looks pretty good.  I look forward to trying my hand at painting in my room soon.  I keep wanting to set up my bed and keep running into reasons not to.  First it was a lack of tools.  Then I wasn't sure if it will fit where I want it (pretty sure now that it will).  Today when I started getting things prepped it turns out that I don't have all the parts.  I'm not sure if they are downstairs in the porch or if they are still in storage.  As I think about it all now though, I need to wait until I have done some of the painting.  The perfect place to practice will be behind my headboard!

Today my happy things are getting to work with a student, seeing a bunch of students on a Google meet, and being silly with the family at dinner tonight.  The TV is still not set up, I'm liking eating at a table instead of in front of the TV.

Sunset from my window.

New wall color.
I don't think this picture shows the color quite right.

Stay safe, stay well.
