Fresh Snow to Walk In.

As we have yet to be a year in this house there have been many firsts.  Today I went out back on the property to walk through a quantity of fresh snow for the first time.  Between the cold and the amount of pictures I took, my phone died just as I got back to the house.  I would have stayed out longer except that I saw the battery was getting low.  There were deer prints, little critter prints and birds eating seeds from the trees.  Here is a link to a video of the birds, I think they are field sparrows.  It is about a minute long and the blowing wind gets loud in a couple places.  I saw them during the walk I took in the morning.  I took another walk in the afternoon to view the sunset.  Other things that made me happy and grateful today:
  • Juncos in the backyard.
  • Cookie making.
  • More weaving practice.  During the week I hope to actually start a pattern.
  • I found a nice pair of gloves in the winter bin that I can keep on and use the touch screen on my phone.
  • There was an accounting course that I signed up to take through the library in the spring that I finally started to take today.
  • The sound of the wind moving through the icy branches of trees.
  • After dinner, Z, K, Gideon and I started doing a puzzle.  It is a map of Southern New England and it is from 1972.  I really hope there are no missing pieces...

Fresh Snow.

Bowing to the snow.

Footprints in the snow.

No idea what little critter left this trail.

Deer print.

A little more practice weaving.

Sunset.

Puzzle progress.
The rest of the family went to bed and
I had to promise not to do more than the water
and then go to bed too.

Stay safe.

  1. W O W the sun through the clouds and the snow in the first shot! Oh the snow. We see nothing like that here in Texas! How exciting to build a snowperson taller than a Barbie made from the snow off the hood of a car, on the rare occasions we get snow. All the tracks! Wonderful. I will have white lovely dreams tonight I hope! (12-8/9)
