Snow!

Walking in the rain this morning my mind focused on the now.  Cars zooming by, rain dripping, where each foot should step to stay dry-as long as possible, where each step is taken to avoid slipping on fallen leaves or mud.   A hat and rain jacket tight around my face to keep my eye glasses clear.  I thought I'd be able to write poetry when I returned home.  I did write, but the poetry I was hoping for didn't quite happen.  Walking in the rain this morning was quite enjoyable.  About the time I got home the rain was just starting to turn into snow.  Within an hour it was mostly snow.  Other happy things for today:

  • Gideon came to my room today while I was writing and told me about all the dreams he had while he slept.
  • Last night we gave K her Christmas present a bit early.  She is now the happy owner of a matte ink blue KitchenAid mixer.
  • Gideon made his first life-sized snowman.  He named it Snowman Squarehead.  Having a yard has winter snow fun perks.
  • K and C made cookies with the new mixer.  I got to taste test them.
  • I got out one of my looms today.  It has a piece on it that was started on one loom and then moved over to a different loom when part of it was finished.  I had to detangle it a little and mess with the tension.  I only wove a little to remind myself what to do.  I'm looking forward to making time to weave again.

Waterlogged plants.

Out back in the rain.

Snow!

Petunias inside, a winter wonderland out.

Later in the evening, more snow.
This was shoveled earlier.
Hopefully Snowman Squarehead will survive the night.

Stay safe.
