Real Snow

Walking through the snow this afternoon was rough.  I shoveled in the morning and again in the afternoon.  I thought I would try to walk just a little way up the hill to see a bit of view.  I didn't make it that far.  The snow is up to my knees.  I'm hoping for better tomorrow.  There will still be shoveling to do; the cars aren't cleared out yet and the plow will be back tomorrow.  Having a friend plow is wonderful.  The truck got stuck at the end of the driveway and had problems slipping to get up the hill.  But I am still very grateful that they came to plow us out.  Other things today that made me happy:

  • My Dungeons and Dragons character went up a level again and they will be harder to harm and have more magic spells--well, partially depending on the roll of the dice still.
  • It was nice to see a friend today even though the conditions were that he was plowing the driveway.  There was a point where he and I were trying to shovel out the plow truck and everyone else was inside.  K came out to make sure he got some cookies before leaving.  I let her know that he wasn't done, we've been trying to shovel out the plow.  She was all apologetic, she thought that he and I were just doing Pelican things (we both have the high service awards in the SCA, called a Pelican).  She thought we were going above and beyond rather than troubleshooting.  🤣
  • The imitation tree that is outside under a roof, but not much for walls, is beautifully flocked with snow from the storm.
  • The petunias still look good, but they were also frozen when I took a picture of them.
  • Gideon can get absolutely giddy with laughter playing D & D.

Not that much came up to the door.
There is an overhang.

Z shoveling that same place.

One of the petunias.

In a house that was at least partially built in 1745,
I have to wonder how much snow it has stood through.
Cleaning off the roof a bit.

Those are my knees.
I estimate we got close to two feet, but not quite.

Pretty snow covered tree.

The ripple in the force... um snow... are my footprints.

Stay safe.
